RedCoat Publishing Wins Five Awards for Editorial Excellence PDF Print E-mail

December 2, 2009. Beverly, Mass.-The RedCoat Publishing editorial department recently received five coveted Eddie awards from Folio Magazine. Eddies are given out by Manhattan-based Folio in recognition of excellence in editorial.

"This really is a tremendous achievement," said Mike Kelly, publisher. "It's not unusual to see titles like Fortune, BusinessWeek, and Inc. picking up more than one award, but for an up-and-coming publishing house like us to win five this year says a great deal about the quality of writing we produce."

Two RedCoat articles won gold Eddies. The cover story of Fall 2008 issue of Energy Today won in the energy business-to-business category. The story, "State of the Art," written by Jill Rose, describes Boulder, Colorado's smart grid project. Rose is editor-in-chief of Energy Today, American Executive, Inside Healthcare, and Northeast Executive.

"Green Spree," the cover story of Retail Merchandiser's September/October 2008 issue, by Michael Sharkey, former editor-in-chief, won the gold award in the retail category. The article looked at the sustainability efforts of seven leading-edge retailers. In addition, the September/October issue of the magazine won a bronze award for best full issue in the retail category.

Two RedCoat articles won silver Eddies: The cover story of the August 2008 issue of American Executive was an article on social media entitled "Social Status," by Jill Rose. It won for best single article in the design/advertising/marketing category for B2B magazines.

The second silver was awarded for a feature story by RedCoat editor Amanda Gaines in the Spring issue of Welcome Magazine. "Come On In," an article on how hospitality companies can design successful loyalty programs around customer desires, won for best single article in the food service/hotel category.
