New York, NY (July 1, 2007) – Ideal Media, LLC announced today that Karen Weisberg is stepping down as senior editor of FoodService Director magazine to begin her own freelance writing business venture. Having worked with the magazine since its inception in 1988, Ms. Weisberg has decided the time is right to establish her own business – with FoodService Director as her first official customer. She will remain an energetic force behind the FoodService Director editorial team as a contributing writer and will continue to represent the magazine at industry functions. “While we’re sad to see such an industry icon leave our family, I’m very pleased that Karen will continue her relationship with us through her writing,” said Bill Anderson, Publisher of FoodService Director. “She has been steadfast and a well respected member of our team for nearly 20 years and we’re excited and honored that FoodService Director will be her first official customer in her new venture.” Prior to joining FoodService Director, Ms. Weisberg served as editor-in-chief of Keller Publishing’s Beverage World International magazine, now owned by Ideal Media. Over the years, she has received several awards including the New York Business Press Club Association award for best feature story; the Long Island Press Club award for best column; the American Correctional Food Service Association’s President’s Award; and American Business Media’s Littleford Award for her first place entry. Ms. Weisberg has also been honored by her fellow IFEC members with “The Betty”- the IFEC version of “The Oscar”.
