Chicago/New York (March 16, 2005) –Ideal Media, a new division of Schofield Media Ltd., announced March 16 that it has acquired four major business-to-business magazines from VNU Business Media Inc. The BPA-audited magazines, all established and leading titles in their respective markets, are: • Restaurant Business, founded in 1902, this Neal-award winning magazine provides vital information for restaurant industry professionals. Its 120,000 subscribers are in casual-dining, family style, fine-dining, quick-service and other sectors. • FoodService Director focuses on the information needs of the non-commercial foodservice industry. The more-than 40,000 subscribers of this market-leading publication are leaders in contract management, corporate dining, educational, healthcare and other major sectors. • Beverage World is for professionals in the international beverage production and distribution sectors, including soft drinks, beer and wine. It has a circulation of 34,000. • Retail Merchandiser keeps mass retailers up-to-date on industry and consumer trends. This long-established magazine has a circulation of more than 20,000. Ideal also acquired the magazines' Web sites and conferences/events, as well as ID Access, an online information source for food distribution managers and distributor sales professionals.
